微软官方刚刚发布了Exchange Server 2007最终评估版，正式版将在明年初正式推向市场。微软公司表示，为了过滤病毒和蠕虫，在Exchange 的前端安全软件中采用了五家反病毒公司的反病毒引擎，为了反对网络钓鱼攻击，微软公司同时还提供了保护功能。所有这些产品预期将在今年晚些时候或明年早些时候发布。
微软公司指出，远程安装、资料更新信号和警报将通过一个中央管理器进行控制，这款软件也可以被中央管理器进行远程安装。资料更新信号、报告和警报也可以被控制。ES2007 还可以单独地同IP PBX或VoIP等网关进行通信，利用内置在这些电话设备中的语音控制软件，比如微软的Speech服务器软件，人们就可以通过普通电话来访问 ES2007上的语音信箱和月历计划，或者从邮件客户端(象outlook)访问他们语音邮件。新版的Exchange Server 2007可以配置成多种角色运行，充当邮件网关或独立功能的邮件服务器都可以。
